Fighting breast cancer

New Mexico Bank & Trust is offering new and existing customers an opportunity to fight breast cancer in New Mexico. The bank is rolling out its new Pink Ribbon Debit Card. Every time a customer uses the card to make a purchase, New Mexico Bank & Trust will make a contribution to Breast Cancer Resource Center in Albuquerque.

Pink Ribbon Debit Cards are free and available with all New Mexico Bank & Trust personal checking accounts.

Besides providing information and support to patients and families, Breast Cancer Resource Center helps its clients navigate the health care system and connects them with the care and services they need. It makes transportation arrangements for people who cannot drive. For those who do drive, they offer gas cards, a significant service considering patients can come from all over New Mexico.

McGee named president

Kathy McGee, vice president of corporate banking for First National Bank of Santa Fe, is the new president of Professional Business Women of New Mexico.

Other new officers include Kristen Briggs of General Mailing & Shipping Systems, Halle Treanor of Hub International Southwest, Michael Anne Antonucci, a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, and Kacey Briggs of General Mailing & Shipping Systems.

The organization advocates to improve the lives and promote the advancement of women through personal, political and professional development, while influencing the government, improving communities, and providing a friendly, supportive forum for networking and growth. Gorman nominated


Don Gorman Electric LLC of Santa Fe has been nominated for the Secretary of Defense Freedom Award for 2012 in the Small Business category.

The announcement of the nomination was made recently by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense agency.

The Freedom Award is the highest recognition given by the Department of Defense to employers for exceptional support of their Guard and Reserve employees.

Focus on secretary's duties

The Santa Fe Parliamentary Unit will present a two-hour seminar titled "Duties and Responsibilities of the Organization Secretary" from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at St. John's United Methodist Church.

Space is limited; $15 pre-registration fee.
