MANAGER, EVENTS
& VISITOR PROGRAMS
The Santa Fe Institute, a world-renowned scientific research center, seeks a Manager, Events and Visitor Programs, reporting to the Vice President. The Manager plans, administers, and executes the scheduling and logistical aspects of SFI events (workshops, schools, board meetings, symposia, and social events), housing for event participants and visitors, and the visitor invitation, administration, and reimbursement process. The Manager maintains the master calendar of events; supervises three staff members with varied responsibilities; and coordinates with other staff as needed. Extended and weekend work hours are required during events.
At least five years experience with event and meeting planning and coordination is required, as are familiarity with arranging a large volume of housing (hotel) accommodations, making travel-related reservations, resolving travel issues, and arranging housing. Knowledge of the Santa Fe area hospitality industry is essential. Experience negotiating contracts is helpful. Attractive employee benefits package.
