With his smash singles "Black and Yellow," "Roll Up" and "On My Level," rapper Wiz Khalifa seems to be popping up everywhere this year. In March, Khalifa's released his newest album,
Rolling Papers.
With a very promising track list that also includes some of his previous hits, Khalifa's fans held their breath until the album hit store shelves.
Unfortunately, I bought my copy of
Rolling Papers a few days after the release date because every store I went to had sold out of the album — a good sign for Khalifa.
After listening to the first two songs, I knew the wait had been worth it.
The album opens with "Without Me," a piano solo that lasts nearly 2 minutes. Besides the track "On My Level," the entire album is mellow — it's almost as if Khalifa has adopted a rhythm-and-blues rap style.
The melodious feeling and overall lyrical genius makes
Rolling Papers it an instant winner for hip-hop fans.
